CHILDREN OF BODOM's LAIHO On New GODSPLAGUE Album; Footage From Studio Posted Online

September 9, 2007

Video footage of CHILDREN OF BODOM guitarist/vocalist Alexi Laiho laying down a guest guitar solo and backing vocals on the new album from the Finnish band GODSPLAGUE has been posted at YouTube. A couple of clips from the session can be viewed below.

GODSPLAGUE release its third album, "H8", on September 5 via Stay Heavy Records. According to the band's official bio, "GODSPLAGUE's music is a mix of heavy, downtuned guitar riffs, overdriven bass and powerful drum grooves. If BLACK LABEL SOCIETY, C.O.C. and DOWN get your juices going, heads banging and fists shaking, GODSPLAGUE is the band for ya. The band guys themselves describe their music to be 'Friday night boozin' heavy metal,' with a wide grin on their faces. Fasten your seatbelts and experience the world with GODSPLAGUE — the dark place with the sparks of black humour and heavy, yet groovy beat that would make even Lucifer himself rock."

The members of GODSPLAGUE musicians are well known and active in the Finnish metal scene. Vocalist Nico is also known from his history in the metal band DRIVE and from his live appearances with SUBURBAN TRIBE. Guitarist Euge Valovirta is also part of SUBURBAN TRIBE and is an ex-DRIVE member as well. He's also played with WALTARI, LENINGRAD COWBOYS, LULLACRY and THE BLACK LEAGUE. Drummer Atte Sarkima is known from HAVANA BLACK, AJATTARA, VERENPISARA and his road work with AMORPHIS.
